Copperstate Truss in the Spotlight: Our Facility Featured by Simpson Strong-Tie

When a national leader puts the spotlight on your shop, it’s not just a moment — it’s proof.

We’re thrilled to share that Simpson Strong-Tie chose Copperstate Truss as one of their feature locations in their latest video showcasing advanced truss manufacturing. A full film crew visited our facility, bringing cameras, video gear, and even a drone for sweeping aerial shots.

Below, we take you behind the scenes, show what makes our technology unique, and explain exactly why our customers benefit from choosing Copperstate Truss.

The Visit: What Went into the Filming

When the Simpson Strong-Tie team reached out, we knew this would be an amazing opportunity. Here’s what took place on filming day:

  • A 7-person film crew came equipped with professional cameras, complementary lenses, lighting setups, and a drone to capture aerial overview shots of our facility.

  • Several local crew members handled logistics and site coordination; the rest traveled in from out of state with advanced equipment.

  • They shot sequences across multiple production lines, showing real-time operations, machine detail close-ups, operator interviews, and the drone flying overhead to capture the entire plant.

  • The goal was clear: tell the story of what enables Copperstate Truss to be both precise and efficient in delivering quality trusses, and partner it with Simpson Strong-Tie’s vision in component manufacturing.

By embedding this story directly in video form on our site, we make that behind-the-scenes work visible to you — our customers, partners, and the industry.

Why Simpson Strong-Tie Chose Us

Simpson Strong-Tie’s selection of Copperstate Truss wasn’t random. In 2024, Simpson Strong-Tie acquired Monet DeSauw, a company renowned for manufacturing industrial saws designed for automated truss component production. Here at Copperstaate Truss, we’ve fully embraced that technology and currently operate four Monet saws in total:

  • Two Linear Saws for high-volume precision cutting
  • One Component Saw for specialized cuts and smaller batch runs
  • One Web Saw for complex web and rafter components

Their Monet DeSauw saw systems are built for precision and speed. They’re capable of cutting webs, chords, rafters, wedges, and more — all to exact tolerances and with labeling integrated into the workflow. Every piece that leaves our line is ready for seamless assembly, reducing re-cuts, confusion, and wasted time in the factory.

For our customers, that means you benefit from:

  • Faster lead times — our upgraded saw and automation reduce bottlenecks and enable us to keep up with demand.

  • Greater accuracy and consistency — tighter tolerances and fewer manual errors translate to trusses that fit better on site.

  • Better traceability & labeling — parts cut correctly, labeled clearly and consistently.

  • Ongoing support & modernization — because we are aligned with a company committed to continuous improvement in component manufacturing.

Our Technology: What Sets Copperstate Apart

We’ve grown by leaps and bounds since 2020, expanding staff, adding production lines, and upgrading equipment. Below is a deeper dive into what’s new and how it adds value:

Modern Saw Lines & Automation

  • We operate Monet DeSauw’s top-tier Linear Assembly Saw and an automated component saw alongside our Alpine-based setup.

  • Those machines seamlessly integrate feedstock cutting, component separation, and part labeling into our workflow.

  • Our shop can handle multiple jobs at the same time, run four roof truss lines simultaneously, and process complex jobs with speed and accuracy.

Alpine Engineering & Component Plates

  • We continue using Alpine engineering software and connector plates (wave plates, high strength, super strength) to ensure that every truss is not only structurally engineered but utilizes top-performing connectors.

  • These plates are highly trusted in the industry; pairing them with precision saw systems ensures performance gains in the field (less rework, better load distribution).

Quality Control & Skilled Staff

  • Advanced machinery can only do so much and the difference often comes down to craftsmanship. That’s why we maintain rigorous QC checks and invest in skilled operators.

  • During filming, you might have seen operators at key stations, measuring and checking parts, ensuring the machines’ output matches design specs down to the smallest detail.
